I joined a community service called ORBIS at SAS in 9th grade, and have been teaching visually impaired people in this organization. Through interacting with the visually impaired children, I learned about their challenges, especially in recognizing scene text in their daily lives, such as package labels and street signs. Here is the app that I have developed for the visually impaired and here is the camera attached to an ordinary pair of glasses. During my presentation at the CIIE, I was able to interact with many people who were interested in my product and wanted to collaborate with me to further improve the system for the visually impaired and spread it to other users to help them in their daily lives. I am very grateful for the SAS community and the STEM atmosphere.
